Darren Criss talks to Gay Times about TBU

Gay Times: We were really upset about [Blaine] cheating
    Darren: Oh yeah, me too.
Gay Times: What has the fan reaction been like?
Darren: Well, we don't know if he did actually cheat. But if he did; bummer. I have my own ideas about who Blaine is, and obviously the writers have a better idea, and so you find the middle ground and try to do your job to make it as truthful as possible. I think about three years ago, when we met Blaine, if you had told me he was going to cheat on his boyfriend, I would have been like, "What? No way man!" I thought that would never happen. But then again, people are layered, they have a lot of different things going on and maybe that's who he was when he met Kurt because he was trying to give a good impression--well, I think he was being genuine--but people's interests in other people get complicated. It's not as black and white as him being this knight in shining armour. And also people grow up and grow apart and grow different, so it was my job to be like, "I guess if he does this, then I have to rationalise where and at what point Blaine would be at to do such a thing," and I guess they try to justify that. I'm not going to say that it was justified, but he tries to rationalise it by the fact that he's been abandoned and it's tough, and he couldn't hold on any more. But yeah, it's a bummer. It's always a bummer when you see nice couples going down the drain. Damn.

The Brittana Tissue Box signed by Naya Rivera and Heather Morris arrived at my house today!  I requested that they write “Proudly So” and draw “gay sharks” on the tissue box and, as you can see, they did it!

Side 1: “Don’t Cry - Heather Morris” & “Booo hooo!  - <3 Naya”

Side 2: “Did you know…”

Side 3: “Dolphins are just gay sharks! Brit taught me that.  Proudly so! <3 Santana”

Side 4: Drawing of “gay shark” with little goldfish and thought bubbles saying “I’m not even gonna eat you guys!” and “Yay!! Happy!!”

From looking at the handwriting, it seems like Naya did sides 2 and 3, while Heather did side 4.  But feel free to discuss :)

Also, it is now officially canon that Santana also signs her name with a heart.

One last thing, despite the auction advertising that Ryan Murphy would sign the tissue box - he didn’t.

Today I finally received the Klaine tissue box from The Break Up episode auction. The money raised went to The Trevor Project. Darren Criss and Chris Colfer wrote me personal notes. Here are photos of the tissue box (although I know my earlier twitter pics have already been posted by others)

The season’s best episode combined three teen breakups: one gay, one straight, one lesbian. The pivotal scene was a callback to Season 2, when Darren Criss, as Kurt’s then crush Blaine, transformed Katy Perry’s hit “Teenage Dream” into a coming-out anthem. Twirling in private-school uniforms, Criss and a chorus of beautiful boys harmonized a cappella, a fantasy of gay male solidarity. Now Criss reprised the song as a karaoke solo, a tearstained confession about the death of first love—of their relationship, and, in a sense, of the show itself. Four seasons in, long after many viewers had given up, “Glee” hit a high note again, its own artificiality serving as a frame for real feeling.
